Celebrating 10 Years of Service

Furniture Bank turned 10 in 2008.

On October 15, 2008 Furniture Bank hosted an open house to celebrate 10 years of helping people establish new homes. We were delighted to have many past volunteers and staff join in the celebration. Donors, representatives from foundations and corporate supporters dropped in for cake and coffee. Long serving volunteers were honoured with recognition certificates.

Breakfast television helped us kick off the day by broadcasting live from Furniture Bank telling the GTA about what we do and why. A number of local establishments donated cakes, sandwiches, and photographic services making the day a big success.

Greeting came from far and wide including this letter from David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
